Nia is an expressive body-mind-spirit movement program that offers an artistic and innovative approach to fitness and healing. Blending aspects of Martial Arts, Dance Arts, and Healing Arts, Nia provides a variety of movement dynamics to create an experience that involves your whole body, as well as your spirit. Nia is practiced barefoot (but you can wear shoes if you prefer), is non-impact, and adaptable to individual needs and abilities. Each workout is based on 52 simple moves, designed to provide a full body conditioning workout. Benefits include: increased flexibility, agility, mobility, stability and strength.
Special Instructions for Participants:
Nia is typically practiced barefoot but if you prefer to wear shoes that is also fine. Please wear comfortable yoga/dance-wear clothing that allows for freedom in your movement. Plan to arrive 10 - 15 min. early to get registered and settled in. There is metered parking directly in front of the studio and free street parking in the surrounding residential areas around the corner from the studio.
